Four years ago, we bought a lifestyle block in Clarks Beach on the Manukau Harbour and after totally renovating the house we took what was a paddock with a few specimen trees and have created a lovely all seasons garden, which we now operate our specialist nursery from, focusing on small hedge varieties, ground covers, small feature shrubs and some perennials.

It was our retirement that gave us the nudge to take our own garden in this direction. Mike came up with the idea of an online nursery and Michele was immediately onboard. With a shared history of growing things from small gardens through to avocado orchards to large gardens, it seemed like a great idea. We have both owned businesses before and retirement to us should be fun, challenging and satisfying.

Plants4u attracts customers with new smaller gardens (a trend on the rise as subdivisions increase), plus professional landscape designers and lifestyle block owners, in essence anyone with a garden.  

Our plants are sourced from leading seed growers. We are very selective when choosing plants, ensuring they are of good quality and have a wider appeal. Some we sell on, and others we pot up until they are bigger and more established.

We are mindful of the balance between plant value and courier costs. Most of our stock are thriving young plants, ready to grow in our new home.
